About RiceNXpert

A Field-Ready Tool Built for Farmers

RiceNxpert is a smart agriculture solution developed by ICAR-National Rice Research Institute. It helps farmers in nitrogen management and disease detection to ensure better yield and crop health.

Instead of relying on guesswork, farmers capture a photo of the rice leaf, and the app analyzes its colour to recommend the right nitrogen dressing at the right time — directly from their phone.

How It Works

From Leaf to Recommendation in Four Steps

Leaf colour is monitored from 21 days after transplanting (or 28 days after sowing) at a weekly interval, up to flowering.

1
Pick the Right Time

Take leaf readings in the morning, between 8–10 AM, for consistent results.

2
Select Ten Leaves

Choose ten topmost, fully expanded leaves at random from disease-free plants.

3
Capture & Analyze

Photograph each leaf — the app analyzes its colour to assess nitrogen status.

4
Get a Recommendation

Receive a nitrogen dressing recommendation and track it in your session history.
